Inspired by a memorable dish from a Chinatown food hall in NYC, this recipe is an easy and quick attempt to replicate the heavenly soy chicken experience. Perfect for a weeknight dinner.
1. Prep your ingredients. 2. In a pan heat up some oil and sauté the garlic + onion until fragrant. Then add in your red chili flakes. 3. Add in your soy sauce, sugar, and water and bring to a simmer. 4. Add in your chicken thighs and make sure all of them are coated in the sauce. 5. Simmer on med/low with the lid on for 20 mins and occasionally flip the chicken back and forth to ensure even coating of the sauce + even cooking! 6. Now remove the lid and continue to let simmer for another 15 mins and watch for the sauce to thicken to a consistency of your taste. Keep flipping that chicken! 7. Serve over rice and garnish with sesame seeds + green onions :)
